VENUE SPOTLIGHT: Strange Brew

After a rough beginning due to the pandemic, Strange Brew finally opened its doors to the public in September of 2020 and has quickly become one of the most interesting and diverse venues Bristol has to offer. Located on Fairfax Street, Strange Brew offers a cosy café during daytime hours with the addition of a small record shop run by Bristol’s Planet Caravan Records. Creative workshops, industry talks and exhibitions usually take place throughout the week, giving some local creatives a chance to showcase their art, and providing space for Bristol’s vast creative community to congregate. By night the venue is home to a wide variety of events covering all genres of music. The DJ booth has been blessed by the likes of Giant Swan, Hodge, Batu and many other Bristol DJs, while the stage offers a space for live performance and weekly jam sessions. So whatever mood you’re in, Strange Brew will always have something to offer.
