Reuben James

I was first introduced to the work of pianist and producer Reuben James through the whimsically beautiful Ruby Smiles from his 2022 mixtape Tunnel Vision. His latest single 100 Degrees is another example of the sensibility in his playing and the tenderness of his production. In collaboration with heavyweight Linden Jay, known for his work with Sampha, Sinead Harrnett, and Maverick Sabre, it was perhaps no surprise I was digging for more of James’s work, stumbling on this latest release. One of the big hopes for the future of British vocal soul music anything with James’s name on never disappoints.
