LORDE – THE ULTRASOUND TOUR AT THE 02 ARENA, 17TH NOVEMBER
By Resonate | March 4, 2026
Lorde has always held an alternative leaning and introspective space in pop and it really came together on this tour. Supporting her 2024 album ‘Virgin,’ the New Zealand singer somehow made a twenty thousand crowd feel intimate. ‘Virgin’ was praised for its storytelling of gender identity and weird but wonderful production.
When brought to life, it leads the audience to feel safe and free within her world. One personal highlight for me was ‘Ribs.’ A song about the fears and excitement of growing up, capturing the ache of nostalgia and the anxiety of leaving your childhood behind. When performed live, there was a sense of community and friendship, even with people next to me I’ve never met.
There was barely a phone in sight which is so rare at concerts in today’s world. Everyone was just soaking up the atmosphere. I don’t think I’ve attended a concert where people lived in the moment like this since pre-pandemic.
All in all, The Ultrasound Tour captures heartbreak, explores gender identity and the fears and liberation of growing up. There was a sense in the crowd that although ‘Melodrama’ (2017) was possibly her commercial peak. This may be her peak as a performer and songwriter.
