Ill Move Sporadic

DRUG CORPSE II is the long-overdue release from producers/artists, Ill Move Sporadic. The album acts as a follow up to previous underground classic Drug Corpse, released on Starch records back in 2013.

Created over the last year at the duos studio’s in Bristol and Manchester, beatmakers Ben 81 and One Boss pull out their outboard kits, ancient Akai mpc and emu samplers to bring that trademark, gritty sound, rolling base and off the wall samples. Stand out track, the self-titled Body Disposal, takes you on an immersive, instrumental and rap trip. It’s a roller coaster of originality, soaked in jazz, with a hip-hop rawness at its core. The album features new, creative collaborations and sound trade-offs between Ill Move Sporadic and carefully selected guest rappers and MCs.

The aim for the album was stand-out status. In a previous interview, they stated: “Everyone is using the same sample packs, same old breaks and people all sounding samey, we don’t want to sound like other producers, we want to dispose of that way of doing things.” This latest effort shakes it up and will continue to keep the listener locked-in throughout lock-down.
